Deck Building Implementation! - Snailyo


Introduction

Another extensive update to Snailyo, with lots of new features and updated mechanics, which should provide some fun, but also more balanced playthroughs. Looking on the horizon, this will probably my best game so far! Feel free to suggest features to be added in new updates.

Power levels

Since I havent filled in the cards' powers yet, here is a breakdown:

Any card that increases distance has a power of their initial increase (e.g. Backyo has a power of -1 regardless of upgrade)

Resetyo and Randyo have a power of 0

Doublyo, Drawyo and Negativyo have a power of 5

Updates

- Improved UI so now the scroll wheel works properly.

- Most constants from the older version have become variables that can be changed.

-  Many, many new upgrades in the store, you'll have to try them out!

- All sprites are 16 by 16, and many more have been added, let me know which style you prefer.

- Shop prices have scaled with the complexity of the game.

- A new secret code

New Features

- New beck builder with restriction features to stop the player becoming overpowered at the start of the game, which scales with their overall progress. This also allows the player to remove the negative RNG in their plays.

- Lots of new yoyo types which will become more cohesive in the future.

Future updates

- A stats / achievements menu, where your game is recorded.

- A save system so playthroughs aren't so arduous.

- Cards in the deck being selected singular instead of mixing together when they are dragged over.

- A 'card building' system where you can combine cards to create new ones.

- New playable snails that have different outfits.
